The return of warm weather saw plenty of dragonflies and butterflies on the wing, Essex Skipper was noted and Marbled Whites and Emperor Dragonflies were much in evidence.

78 adult Dunlin, 32 Avocet, 5 Green Sandpiper, 22 Redshank, 18 Black-tailed Godwit, 4 male Ruff, 5 Little-ringed Plover (2 adults), 112 Lapwing, 11 Teal, 8 Gadwall and Reed Warblers galore!

South Lake

Green Sandpiper, 35 Redshank, 109 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 male Ruff, 5 Little-ringed Plover (1 juv), 2 Oystercatcher, 1 adult Avocet and 8 juvs, 72 Gadwall, 5 Shoveler, 15 Teal, demanding GC Grebe with parents, 3 Cormorant, 74 Black-headed Gull.

Middle Point

Common Sandpiper, Little Egret, 6 Dunlin, Greenshank, 2 Oystercatcher, 30+ Shelduck, 375 Black-headed Gull and 45 Curlew on the low tide mudflats.

The Dumbles

Two pairs of Crane.

Rushy Hide

2 Green Sandpiper, 8 Lapwing and 18 Black-tailed Godwit on the lower pond.

Tack Piece

2 Green Sandpiper, adult and juvenile Little-ringed Plover, 13 Teal and 3 Lapwing.

Kingfisher Hide

A family party of 5 Jay in the Four Score field hedge. The Kingfishers were very active feeding young.
