Two Glossy Ibis remain

Both Glossy Ibis have been seen again this morning, one in the usual place by the canal, the second bird from the Zeiss Hide

Both Glossy Ibis have been seen again this morning, the first in the usual place feeding in the field next to the cattle barns and canal bridge. The second bird was on the Top New Piece, viewed from the Zeiss Hide.

Robbie Garnett Hide
Three Pintail were on the Tack Piece this morning along with 13 Avocet, 16 Shelduck, a pair of Oystercatcher, 36 Shoveler, 18 Teal and five Wigeon.

Estuary Tower walkway
Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Willow Warbler and Cetti’s Warbler could all be heard singing this morning in the sunshine.

Willow Hide
A pair of Bullfinch were noted.

Estuary Tower
Birds on the Long Ground Pool included eight Tufted Duck, a pair of Shoveler, single Little Grebe, 13 Greylag Geese and eight Canada Geese. Out on the Dumbles scrape were ten Avocet enjoying the calmer weather, along with a pair of Oystercatcher, 12 Teal, ten Shoveler and three Shelduck. A pair of Peregrine were on the southern cross fence. Closer to the hide, a Kestrel was on the Pillbox.

Kingfisher Hide
The male Kingfisher was seen at the nesting bank this morning. The walkway down to the hide holds singing Chiffchaff and Blackcap.

Zeiss Hide
Our pair of Cranes continue their incubation on the nesting island. The second Glossy Ibis was here again this morning, and other birds on the Top New Piece included 26 Avocet, two Mediterranean Gull, 14 Black-tailed Godwit, two Redshank and two Snipe.

South Lake
A Great Crested Grebe was on the deep lake. The wader scrape held 51 Avocet and 13 Black-tailed Godwit. A pair of Little Ringed Plover were on the causeway.

Rushy Hide
The lower pond held 23 Avocet, a single Redshank, and a pair of Little Ringed Plover. One of our first Greylag Goose families are on the upper pond with five goslings. Also here were 15 Shelduck, six Tufted Duck and two Gadwall.
