Close alert

Wet and Windy again

Rushy

Only 12 Bewicks on site this morning including Turlough mother of 4 who is looking increasingly ill. This represents an incredibly early departure no doubt a result of a mild winter and climate change.

Check out later in the day the Redshank and Ruff flock (28 yesterday) are getting into the habit of sheltering in here later in the day. Three snipe on the lower pool.

Tack Piece

Some wonderful close up viewing of Curlew 127, redshank 32, Ruff 17, wigeon 670 and a good mix of other ducks all sheltering from the wind close to the hides. Dunlin and golden plover were flying over ion small flocks but not pitching any where.

Willow Hide

Water rail 1 showing very well

Estuary Tower

Very windblown but 330 wigeon in the scrape the usual scattering of canada and barnacle geese. Most notably a large young female peregrine was feeding on what looked like an adult GBB, if so presumably this suggests carrion feeding?
