Severn Estuary Partnership Forum 2018
We had the pleasure of being invited to exhibit a stand at the Severn Estuary Partnership (SEP) forum in Newport last week. It was a great opportunity to talk to people working in and around the estuary about Steart Marshes and the value of working wetlands.
As well as displaying images of what we do, I also handed out a range of our leaflets and magazines including the new dog walking information for the Steart peninsula and our willow sculpture trail – which proved particularly popular. The programme of presentations on the day included: Celebrating the Gwent levels, catchment sensitive farming on the Somerset levels, and research looking into the value of fish nurseries in the Severn Estuary. It was an interesting day and reinforced our position here not only as coastal, but also as part of an important estuarine environment.
