The meadows around our reserve are being cut this week as part of our reserve management plan. This may mean there's some disturbance around Wader Lake and saline lagoon. Thank you for your patience as we do this essential work.

Elf Academy

Christmas is coming and to help spread the festive cheer, our popular Elf Academy is once again opening its doors to young recruits.

Dates: Sunday 15 December / Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 December

Times: 10-11.30am and 1-2.30pm

Cost: £12 per person (includes a hot drink voucher plus take-home crafts for trainee elves).

Suitable for: This event is not suitable for under 4s. We would ask that only elf recruits (aged 4+) and essential grown-ups attend this event to allow as many children to take part as possible.

Enrol on one of our special workshops and learn everything you need to know to gain your all-important Elf-tificate, including special ‘elf' & safety guidelines, the spirit of kindness, gift wrapping for beginners and essential craft skills.

Our Head Elf and her assistants will guide elves-to-be in the art of creating your own wooden crafts and magic reindeer food to sprinkle outside your home on Christmas Eve!

Training will continue as you wrap and label your gifted book (this can be a pre-loved book in good condition or a new book) and in the spirit of festive kindness, this will then be donated to a local children's charity in time for Christmas. Read more about our Christmas donations

Finish your experience with a special graduation ceremony, when elf recruits will receive their Elf-tificate! Then enjoy a well-earned hot drink in our cafe.

Elf fancy dress is optional but positively encouraged – for both little ones and grown-ups!
