Moth morning

Moth morning

Time: 10.30am - 11.30am (drop-in sessions - no need to book)

Location: Education Barn

Cost: Included as part of normal admission cost (free for members)

White satin, poplar hawk, nope, not a type of silky material or bird of prey - these are among the hundreds of moth species seen locally throughout the North East. That can mean only one thing... yes, our moth trap is being opened, so get down and meet Andrew at the barn from 10.30am - 11.30am to talk all things moths!*

We're pleased to involve you in our survey work as you see amazing moths up close and learn about the thousands of species found locally - you could even hold one if you're brave enough! Plus there's plenty of rare treasures to be found, including the very beautiful poplar hawk moth! This is a fascinating activity and certainly a great way to get over any fears...

*Weather dependant - dates subject to change last minute
