Location: Around our woodlands (please check on arrival)

Volunteer and licensed bat handler Melissa will be doing a bat survey and has invited visitors to join her as she checks the bat boxes around our reserve. At Washington, we have known populations of soprano and common pipistrelle bats and surveying these boxes is essential to help us understand how these fascinating mammals are doing here.

We can't promise lots of bats (although we should definitely see some!) but what we can promise is engaging chats and a fantastic insight into our ongoing work to protect them.
