A dance of cranes
This week we have been treated to a group of around 30 cranes using the reserve and surrounding farmland. This post-breeding flock of birds includes four families alongside adult birds. The juvenile birds can be told apart from the adults by their brown, unmarked head and shorter 'tail' or 'bustle'.
Look out for them when you are visiting the reserve, check the latest wildlife sightings to see if and where they have been spotted recently and keep an eye out on our facebook and twitter accounts to check if any further individuals join this flock.
