Early openings and water levels dropping
WWT Welney will be opening at 7am on the following dates to allow people access to see the flight out of swans just after dawn.

Water levels are dropping nicely on the reserve now meaning that spits of land are starting to appear in front of the main hide, a flock of black-tailed godwit were taking advantage of this today, numbers of cranes increased to 3 flying over and a marsh harrier was hunting along the Ouse washes too. If water levels continue to drop at the current rate we will hopefully be able to open the Nelson-Lyle hide by early next week. We will keep you posted.
