Pond dipping season is almost over at WWT Welney.  Just a few weekends left to have a go at exploring the underwater habitat before the swan feeds start.

There are still some amazing things to be found such as this caddisfly case.  These incredible insects have soft bodies whilst they are underwater and so need protection.  They use silk to bind together whatever materials they can find, in this case predominantly snail shells, with some wood and plant stem!  Home sweet home!
