The reserve is looking fantastic as we head further into winter....a visitor on Monday said that they had never seen so many wigeon, and we haven't even reached peak numbers yet!

We are looking forward to the winds changing today to a north easterly prevailing wind, which should bring in more Bewick's swans alongwith thousands more ducks.

All the hides are open giving fantastic views across the reserve.  This includes the Reedbed hide which has had a new scrape added this autumnm, bringing birds closer to that hide on an area of open water.  The summer walk is now half open, to allow you closer access to one of the washes the wigeon are grazing, but not full access right across the far side of the reserve.
