Swan numbers increasing
Despite some early fog this morning, there was plenty of noise on the reserve. There are now at least 300 whooper swans and there were 10 Bewick's swans right in front of Friends hide.
Several whooper swan families now, 3 pairs with three cygnets, one pair with two cygnets and two single cygnet families.
Wigeon and teal numbers are increaing, lots of shoveler at Friends hide. Flocks of lapwing and black-tailed godwit are using the pools as well as snipe and curlew.
