Dawn Swan Count
This morning Louise, Josh and a band of excited volunteers were on site before dawn to count the swans before they leave the washes for the day, go out into the fields and feed on sugar beet tops and mouldy potatoes. Total swans at WWT Welney Whooper swan

Today's Highlights
A bittern flew past the main observatory and landed between this hide and the reedbed hide this morning. The fog has lifted from first thing this morning. There were whooper and Bewick's swans in front of all the hides this morning which is nice to see.

Lyle hide closed - Wed 28 October
Lyle hide will be closed tomorrow (Wed 28 October) whilst there are some management works carried out along the access path to that hide. All other hides are open. This work won't affect the swan feed at 3.30pm and all other areas of the reserve are ope
