Amazing coming into work this morning to see just how much the water levels had risen over night. The two pictures below represent the difference in 24 hours.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The water levels reached a maximum early this morning but it maybe a couple of days before it drops back.

The waterfowl gardens are still closed but the Nature Trail is is open although it's definitely best to wear wellies to get to the Harrier and United Utilities Hides. The rest of the site is unaffected.

An influx of Pintail with at least 120 on the Mere. Good numbers of Pink-footed Geese with around 2000 coming in mid afternoon.

Raptors included Peregrine, 2 Marsh Harrier, Sparrowhawk, 2+ Common Buzzard and Kestrel.

Hundreds of hirundine, mostly Swallows feeding over the flooded fields late afternoon.

Blackcap along the Nature Trail, also a mixed tit flock.
