A new trail
I am pleased to say the the trail has now been completed from the end of our community reedbed walk to the Farm Tea Room. This is something we have wanted to get completed for some time - there has always been a walk there via the public footpaths, but we have put up fingerposts to clearly show the way, all branded with the Ribble Coast and Wetlands logo. I hope you enjoy walking on this pathway.
We started the process of creating trails 3 years ago, starting with a trail from Burscough Bridge Interchange to Martin Mere, then we added on the community reedbed walk, and this trail to the Farm was the third stage.
There are 2 other trails we want to do, a link to New Lane Station and a link to Mere Sands Wood which should be a fantastic walk for birders to walk between our two sites. Hopefully these two projects will be undertaken next year.
