Another gusty Summer day, Avocet broods now fledging
Another windy day but not enough to push any seabirds this far up the Severn. We noted returning Dunlin and a mini influx of Common Sandpipers as these birds head South during the return passage period, Dunlin numbers should now increase with adults appearing first.

7 Redshank, Little-ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper, 43 Avocet, 7 Lapwing, male Ruff and a Reeve, 7 Teal, 1 Barnacle Goose, Swifts feeding over flood + Buzzard and Peregrine over the field at the same time flushed the birds for a time.
Bottom New Piece/ Kingfisher Hide
The Crane family (one chick) and a female Marsh Harrier hunting high over the trees. The Kingfishers are still feeding young.

30 Redshank, 2 male Ruff, 107 Black-tailed Godwit, 20 adult and 22 juvenile Avocet, 71 Mallard, 43 Gadwall, 6 Shelduck, 4 Oystercatcher, 6 Little-ringed Plover, 2 female Pochard, 3 Shoveler, 2 Teal, 2 Tufted Duck, Chiloe Wigeon hybrid male, 300+ Black-headed Gull.

4 Lapwing, 5 Greylag, 48 Shelduck, 2 Mallard.
Middle Point over high tide- 4 Common Sandpiper + 21 Oystercatcher, 175 Curlew, 92 Shelduck, 4 Great-Black-backed Gull, 1 Common Gull, 3 Dunlin, 15 Barnacle Geese and 127 Black-headed Gull on the spartina island/saltmarsh shelf .
Rushy Hide
4 Oystercatcher, 3 Green Sandpiper, 3 Avocet (2 juveniles have moved from SL, great to see them fledging), 7 Lapwing, 7 Redshank, 8 Coot, 6 Moorhen, pair of Shelduck with 8 juvs, 16 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck, 10 Black-headed Gull, 5 Mallard, 10 Greylag.
