South Lake

Three 3 breeding plumage male Ruff (black, blonde and white), two Little-ringed Plover, Kingfisher passing the hide regularly with fish, 99 Black-tailed Godwit (36 flew off), 3 Lapwing, 4 Oystercatcher, 41 Avocet (2 chicks, 0 nests), 70 Gadwall, 4 Pochard, 10 Redshank (including a juvenile)

Top New Piece

Common and 2 Green Sandpiper, Spotted Redshank, 14 Redshank (4 juveniles), Little Grebe, 75 Teal, female Wigeon, 3 Little-ringed Plover, Oystercatcher, 38 Lapwing, 5 Avocet, numerous Reed and Sedge Warblers, male Kingfisher fishing from the island on fleet. At least 10 Pied Wagtails feeding on the wet mud.

Bottom New Piece

Three Green Sandpiper viewable very distantly from the Estuary Tower.

Middle Point

Male White-spotted Bluethroat still calling and visiting sticks on it's territory on the foreshore reedbeds. Peregrine on the Dumbles foreshore.

Rushy Hide

Five broods of Tufted Duck (1, 11, 2, 8 and 11), still very busy with Avocets and their chicks, a brood of Gadwall (2), a pair of Oystercatcher.

Estuary Tower

Flocks of Black-headed Gull, Shelduck, and Curlew + 7 Little Egret, 9 Grey Heron and 7 Great Black-backed Gull on the Severn.

Tack Piece

Pair of Avocet with a chick, 2 Little Egret, Grey Heron, 13 Teal, 10 Gadwall and 3 Shoveler, 2 Oystercatcher.

Martin Smith Hide

Kingfisher on the perches over the pool.

A Glossy Ibis flew over the car park heading North at around 8am.

Top New Piece from Zeiss Hide

A Bittern was showing mid-morning in the reedbeds below the Zeiss Hide, Greenshank, Common Sandpiper, two breeding plumage male Ruff (black and white forms), Snipe, 9 Black-tailed Godwit, 39 Lapwing, 18 Redshank (4 juvenile), 6 Avocet, pr Crane + chick, Great Egret, 40 Teal, Yellow Wagtail with 8 Pied Wagtail.

Singing Reed Warblers, 3 singing Reed Bunting, 7 Sedge Warblers along grazed fringe West side of flood, flock of Shelduck, Swallows and House Martins feeding over.

South Lake from Discovery Hide

Eight Little-ringed Plovers (one juvenile), a breeding plumage male Ruff (blonde), has moved to TNP, increase in Black-tailed Godwit, now 72, 50 Avocet, Spotted Redshank, 22 Redshank, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Lapwing, 6 Oystercatcher + 2 chicks and 15 Teal

Rushy Hide/Peng Observatory

Pochard, Wigeon, Teal (drakes) among the Gadwall, 4 broods of Tufted Duck (8, 10, 8 and 2), Avocets with chicks scattered about the shoreline.

Kingfisher Hide

Brood of 5 Tufted Duck, brood of 3 Gadwall.
