Caerlaverock wildlife sightings 30.3.13

A bright, slightly warmer, dry day. Barnacle Geese in with a vengeance - morning tower count of almost 7000. (A leucistic bird was just off the reserve yesteday evening but no sign today as yet) A few Pink-footeds are dotted in with the Barnies. No sign today or yesterday of the Green-winged Teal, alas. 30 Redshanks shared between Folly Pond and Corner Field, a couple of Black-tailed Godwits, 90 Golden Plover. Yellowhammers in song along with commoner passerines, but no further spring migrants to report beyond the earlier Wheatear and Chiffchaff... yet.
