A possible reserve record of 76 snipe was counted by Richard Hesketh this morning with the lapwings in the wet fields. As the rains eased just after lunchtime, the huge lapwing flock moved from Prince Phillip's field to the corner field, right in front of the Siver & Gold hide. With over 400 lapwings there were 120 starlings, 25 golden plovers, 7 black-tailed godwits and 5 ruffs. A kingfisher was showing well on the new perch right in front of the back pond hide.
