We're seeing a mixture of drizzle and heavy showers today, but it isn't putting off the birds with nice flocks of waders coming in to roost over the high tide.

South Lake
Birds on the wader scrape included 8 Ruff, a Green Sandpiper, 101 Black-tailed Godwit, 8 Redshank and 23 Lapwing.

Zeiss Hide
A juvenile Curlew Sandpiper was a new arrival with wader flock over high tide. The roost also included 97 Black-tailed Godwit, 151 Dunlin, 56 Ringed Plover, 28 Redshank, 2 Sanderling, 68 Avocet, a Ruff, 87 Lapwing and 10 Curlew. A Hobby flew through, a Marsh Harrier was quartering over the Dumbles and a Peregrine was seen.

Rushy Hide
Just 3 Green Sandpiper were on the lower pond this morning along with 5 Black-tailed Godwit, a Snipe, 10 Lapwing and 2 Redshank. A sleepy brood of cygnets were in front of the InFocus shop and a Willow Warbler was singing a few notes from in the hedge next to the hide.

Robbie Garnett Hide
An unusual morning on the Tack Piece with a flock of 27 Ringed Plover (7 juveniles) and 9 Dunlin (7 juveniles) dropping in over high tide along with a single Knot. The Tack Piece isn't usually a high tide retreat at this time of the year. Also seen were 90 Black-tailed Godwit (2 juveniles), an adult and 2 juvenile Little-ringed Plover were mixed in with the Ringed Plover and 2 Redshank, 2 Green Sandpiper and single Common Sandpiper were feeding along the shoreline.
