Estuary Tower
The White-fronted Goose flock were asleep in the sun on the Dumbles this morning, with at least 200 Russian race birds present along with two Greenland race and the accompanying two Pink-footed Geese. Two Little Stint were also seen mid-morning.Great white egret tack piece now. As the tide was rising the roost included a pair of Oystercatcher on the Dumbles with another three pairs to the south of the cross fence along Royal Drift, 69 Curlew on the Dumbles with ten Great Black-backed Gulls and 21 Shelduck. On the scrape were four Avocet, nine Shoveler and a few Teal. At least two singing Skylark could be heard

Zeiss Hide
Counts on the Top New Piece this morning included nine Wigeon, a Little Egret and Grey Heron, 13 teal, four Shoveler, two Redshank, a single Oystercatcher, Black-tailed Godwit and Avocet, nine Tufted Duck, ten Shelduck. A Water Rail was also calling.

Robbie Garnett Hide
Three Snow Geese were again on the Tack Piece along with 37 Shoveler, three Teal, 154 Wigeon, eight Tufted Duck, 39 Shelduck, 12 Barnacle Geese, five Gadwall and a drake Pintail.

South Lake
A female Goldeneye was on the deep lake, along with a Great Crested Grebe, a drake Pochard, 23 Tufted Duck and 12 Gadwall. On the scrape were 129 Avocet, 31 Black-tailed Godwit, 46 Teal, seven Snipe, two Common Gull and four Lapwing. A pair Oystercatcher were down at the Hogarth Hide.

Kingfisher Hide
Both male and female Kingfishers have been busy this morning excavating the new nest hole. Also of note were a Water Rail, singing Chiffchaff and a Cetti’s Warbler.
