Latest Sightings
Over 100 black-tailed godwits are currently calling the mere their home, they can often be seen feeding in front of Discovery hide. 40 curlew have been spotted in woodend marsh, along with around 20 avocets. Also, a water rail was seen from Mere View hide this week.
The feeders at Janet Kear hide have been bringing in lots of goldfinches, blue tits, some chaffinches, and the occasional great spotted woodpecker. A goldcrest was also seen flitting about the grounds this week.
A few dozen mallard ducklings have hatched and started wandering around the site this week, as spring goes on we should see more and more ducklings gracing our site!
