Latest Sightings
Our bittern has been heard booming once again from near Harrier Hide, and a great crested grebe can be seen from the lake Harrier Hide overlooks. 9 avocet nests can be seen from Tomlinson Hide. There has been lots of activity at Rees hide today, as a wood sandpiper, 2 ringed plover, a little ringed plover, redshank with 2 chicks, and recently fledged lapwing chicks have all been seen just this morning!
A pair of tufted ducks have been spotted with their ducklings on the mere, and lots of swallows can be seen flying around the whole site. Some have even been seen nesting in the eaves of the visitor centre! Potentially 4 hobbies have been reported on the mere as well.
