Latest Sightings

It's a beautiful morning here at Martin Mere, after yesterdays downpour.

We're getting more Whooper Swans coming in every day - last count from yesterday puts their numbers at 375. Daily feeds are now being carried out at Discovery hide and Raines hide, so you can view the swans up close whilst learning all about wild birds.

We've also got lots of Pink-Footed Geese with 12,000 spotted at last nights goose evening. A Little Stint has been showing from Ron Barker and the Snow Goose is still visible at the back of the mere alongside a Barnacle Goose. A Bittern and a Water Rail have been seen from Harrier Hide. We're starting to see an increase in our wintering waterfowl with Shelducks, Pintails, Pochard and Wigeon all visible from Discovery hide.
