Latest Sightings - No sign of American Wigeon from yesterday but lots of youngsters

Late yesterday afternoon we had a big surprise as both a male and female American Wigeon turned up on the Folly Pond. They only stayed for about 15 mins before flying east towards the Flood Ground.

These are rare North American ducks which wouldn't normally come across the Atlantic, so these two were far off course.

There was no sign of them this morning, but we will keep looking for them over the next few days to see if they turn up again!

We have seen a lot of youngsters this morning with Mallard and Gadwall ducklings, Mute Swan cygnets, Black-headed Gull chicks and a Roe Deer fawn!
