latest sightings Tuesday 4th September

An osprey was perched on the big tree washed up on the tideline off slatcot merse this morning. Still good numbers of teal, 182 on the folly pond with 25 shovelers and a lone wigeon. The wet areas of Prince Philip's field is proving to be a magnet for the rest of the teal with over 300 in there earlier today. 340 Canada geese with 30 greylag geese were grazing on the merse with 16 mute swans in the big pond beside them. A peregrine was perched on a fence post in the sunshine for most of the morning. House martins are still feeding young in 3 nests on the farmhouse tower.
