Love Learning 2012

This summer come to the Wildfowl & Wetlands centre at Castle Espie and see what fun activities we have in store for one and all.

Every weekend in July and August why not join the team for some fun while learning about the amazing wildlife and history on offer.

Try pond dipping for aquatic life such as Leeches, Freshwater Hoglouse, Pond snails, or Greater Water boatman - with help on hand to explain what you’ve caught.

Discover the wonder of our trees with expert grounds man Robin McKee and help him plant a new generation of saplings.

With a guide on hand hunt the dark crevices and woodpiles of our woodland for millipedes, centipedes, woodlouse, and other creepy crawlies.

Visit our table top of treasures where you’ll discover relic’s from history such as fossils from 320 million years ago, flints and food from 7,000 years ago, and learn about the equipment scientists use to study bird life today.

How about some fun games to pass the day? With one of the biggest world maps you’ll ever see, as well as the migration suitcase game, duck pairs, and so much more you’ll keep entertained all day!

As you can see, we’ve a packed programme full of fun and learning for our weekends throughout the summer months for all the family.
