This February half term, children and adults alike are being encouraged to grab their wellies, get outside and join in the South East Puddle Jumping Championships being held at WWT Arundel Wetland Centre.
This February half term, children and adults alike are being encouraged to grab their wellies, get outside and join in the South East Puddle Jumping Championships being held at WWT Arundel Wetland Centre.
Families and friends will compete at the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust site to see who can produce the biggest splash from their puddle jump each day at 11am and 2.30pm.They will also be judged on their enthusiasm and jumping style. Daily winners will get a giant, colourful umbrella prize while the top regional ‘super-splasher’ of the week will win a fantastic Frugi Puddle Buster Coat made from recycled plastic bottles.
New for this year, adults, as well as children, are being encouraged to unleash their inner child and release every day stress by joining in the puddle jumping championships.Also, there is a practice zone with puddles open all day, mud painting and colouring crafts. The Boat Safaris included in your admission price are running from 11am-3.30 pm and you can hand feed the ducks in the Lakes and Forest exhibit.

“We’ve really perfected the championships this year, with brilliant competition areas, practice puddle zones, and great prizes.Grown-ups are even being encouraged to take part. It’s all a lot of fun and we know that children who love puddles often grow up to be adults that love the outdoors. So through these championships we’re gently nurturing a love that may help protect wetlands and the wildlife that depend on them for years to come.”
