Spring migrants

The male Wheatear was again the fields adjacent to the canal. A Red Kite flew over the car park and Rushy towards the Dumbles.

Glossy Ibis

Still feeding in the canal and roadside fields.

South Lake

Adult Mediterranean Gull favouring the North causeway, 5 Common, 240 Black-headed and 23 Herring Gull, a pair of Goldeneye, only 12 Pochard, Great C Grebe, 96 Avocet, 514 Black-tailed Godwit.

Top New Piece

Two Ruff, 51 Dunlin, 15 Canada + 10 Greylag Geese, 110 Wigeon, 20 Teal, 140 Starling + 21 Lapwing in the rushes.

Estuary Tower

On the estuary early morning- 15 Russian White-fronted Geese, 10 Raven, 76 Carrion Crow, 179 Shelduck, 11 Curlew and a pair Peregrine.

On the Dumbles-179 Russian White-fronted Geese, 2 Pink-footed Geese, 5 Greylag, male Stonechat on the seawall weeds, a pair of Pintail, 140 roaming Starling (also in TNP) and 21 Lapwing.

Rushy Hide

No Bewick's Swans but 14 Avocet early morning, 7 moved to South Lake, Mandarin, 40 Pintail.

Tack Piece

Three Snow Geese, 15 Curlew, 210 Wigeon including the leucistic female, 8 Shoveler and two Greenland White-fronted Geese with the Barnacle Geese + single Ross's Goose.

Pill Box Pool/Knott Hide

70 Wigeon, 5 Gadwall, Little Grebe, 3 singing Chiffchaff.
