Nature photography weekend on Nov 10-11
Arundel Wetland Centre is holding a weekend of nature photography displays, talks and walks on Nov 10-11. “46% of visitors to Wildfowl and Wetland trust centres are interested in photography.” said centre manager Olivia Iles. “We designed this weekend especially for them.”
Professional photographers David Plummer, Robert Canis and James Wright will discuss their work in the Sand Piper Theatre. The Chichester Camera Club, Bognor Regis Camera Club and the Littlehampton Camera Club are displaying images on the theme of nature and wildlife from 10-4pm. InFocus, the telescope specialists, will be onsite on Saturday. Viewpoint Optics is offering free digiscoping tips and demonstrations on Sunday 11 Nov.
Reserve Warden Paul Stephens will lead a photography walk around the reserve on Sunday at 1 pm, giving tips on the best spots to snap different species. The winning images of all four seasons of the WWT Photography contest 2011-12 will be on display in the main gallery of the visitor centre.
All events during the Photography Weekend on Nov 10-11 are included in the regular admission price and are free to WWT members.

Saturday:

2 pm: Photo opportunity - Diving Duck feed at Icelandic Lake exhibit.
2:30 pm: James Wright talk in Sand Piper Theatre: James describes himself as a naturalist and wildlife photographer with a passion for natural history film production. James recently returned from three weeks in Madagascar and will speak on his unique journey through his photographs.
Sunday:

10-4 pm: Infocus, the binocular and telescope specialists, for demonstrations, tips on techniques and how to get the best out of your equipment. Purchase top brands of binoculars, scopes and accessories. Ask about monthly special offers and second hand list. Part exchange is always considered.
12 pm Robert Canis talk in Sand piper theatre: Robert Canis is a UK based professional photographer specializing in wildlife and landscapes. His work is marketed by two leading picture libraries, FLPA and Wildlife GmbH. Robert has twice been Highly Commended in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the year and awarded the Royal Photographic Society’s Gold Medal in their annual international competition. Robert teaches photography courses at WWT Arundel Wetland Centre.
1 pm Walk with a Warden: Reserve grounds manager Paul Stevens lead a photography tips walk giving advice on the best spots to snap which species around the reserve. Space is limited, sign up on the day - spaces will be allocated 20 minutes before walk time.
2 pm Photo opportunity - Diving Duck feed at Icelandic Lake exhibit.
2:30 pm David Plummer talk in Sand piper theatre: David Plummer is a freelance photographer specializing in wildlife and travel. He recently returned from a trip to Brazil photographing jaguars. David works as a photographer for the Sussex Wildlife Trust on many projects around his home county of Sussex. David teaches photography courses at Woods Mill and at WWT Arundel Wetland Centre.
