October half term continues..

We have had a busy week this week as October half term kicked off and it continues through to next week as well. We still have loads of activities for families to enjoy. It’s a great way to spend an autumn day as there is loads to see and do. Families can experience our wonderful everyday wildlife. Our canoes are still open until the 4th November, so come have a go before they close for the winter. This is our award winning experience and a fantastic opportunity to see wildlife from a different point of view. A very popular activity this time of year is pumpkin carving putting everyone in the Halloween spirit. Children have been creating their own scary faces and taking them home to display. We started off with 500 pumpkins and have carved an impressive 200 we have plenty more to go around for next week though! Other activities include:-

Our spectacular swan feeds; with over a 1000 swans this autumn, even the sound is something you must experience. We have three new additions to our otter family three baby girls. The new adventure play area is open for all children. Between 1-4pm family crafts will be taking place in the education centre. There are also regular boat tours around the lake.

Autumn is a great time of year to come visit our centre, the change in season is a lovely thing to watch and experiencing it first hand at Martin Mere is great.
