One Show visiting Martin Mere

The One Show are visiting WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre on Friday 13 September along with presenter Mike Dilger to film a piece about the beavers at the Centre.

The beavers first arrived at WWT Martin Mere in July 2007 as they have been busy beavers since then, building themselves an impressive lodge and tunnel network as nature’s builders and gardeners.  The One Show are going to attempt to drive cameras through the tunnel structures to see just how much work the family of beavers have done in the past 6 years.

Centre Manager, Nick Brooks, said: “Everyone at the centre is very excited to get a glimpse of the tunnel network the beavers have created – we know it is extensive based on the number of holes that have appeared but we don’t know how intricate they are. This footage will provide amazing footage on the life of a beaver.”

The beavers at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre are sponsored by Persimmon Homes. Like beavers, Persimmon Homes creates quality new homes throughout Lancashire and Cumbria.  For further information please visit www.persimmonhomes.com
