A nice surprise this morning as Dave arrived to work when the first two White-fronted Geese of the season flew over heading south. It has also been another big day for Redwing with over 1000 passing overhead in an hour from 8am to 9am. We've also heard and seen lots of Siskin and a few Redpoll too.

Our first pair of White-fronted Geese arrived this morning and settled on the Top New Piece feeding and resting. Also from the hide were 350+ Wigeon, 700+ Teal, 21 Golden Plover, ten Redshank, a single Curlew, Black-tailed Godwit and Dunlin, five Shoveler and two Grey Heron.
Estuary Tower
A small flock of 136 Wigeon and 23 Pintail were on the river along with 40 Shelduck and ten Teal on river. A Little Egret was on the Pillbox Pool.
Decoy Hide
At least three Little Egret left the roost this morning and the Great White Egret was seen nearby in the grounds.
