Due to high winds forecast for today (Wednesday 25th March) our woodland area will be closed. All other areas are open as normal. Thank you for your understanding.

Recent sightings - 01 February

The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, near low tide.

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Mallard +250, Tufted duck 22, Coot 2, Black-headed gull 20, Grey heron 1, Cormorant 2, Greylag 4.

Wadermarsh - visible from Brent Hide

Redshank 2, Black-headed gull 7, Oystercatcher 9, Curlew 1, Greenshank 2.

Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog

Coot 2.

Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory

Light-bellied brent geese +50, Shelduck +70, Oystercatcher +400, Curlew +40, Black-headed gull 10, Redshank +50, Dunlin +80, Black-tailed godwit 5, Grey plover 16, Golden plover 2, Ringed plover 1, Greenshank 1, Herring gull 1.
