Recent Sightings - 14th June 2020

The following sightings were taken yesterday from the reserve at Castle Espie during high tide. The Swallows from the nest in the round house have now fledged, and can be seen flying around the Freshwater Lagoon. The first of the Tern eggs have hatched, and along with the gulls, the parents of both species are busy feeding their young in the Saline Lagoon. Another brood of Tufted duck have hatched on the main lake, and Coot and Moorhen families are also active here also. The Meadow pipits continue to display in the Peninsula field, while Linnet, Reed bunting and Sedge warbler are all active in this area also.
