Recent sightings - 14th September
The following sightings were recorded by Toni Castello, warden.
Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard 200, Tufted 3.
Wadermarsh - visible from Brent Hide
Black-headed gull 1, Oystercatcher 1.
Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog
Mute swan 2 adults + 5 cygnets, Little grebe 2, Coot 1, Little grebe 2, Wigeon 1, Mallard 50.
Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory
Light-bellied brent geese +1200 (numbers increasing around Castle Espie, and more to come from now to our Big Brent Festival on 2-4 October!), Oystercatcher 5, Black-headed gull 10, Curlew 10, Oystercatcher 5.
