Recent sightings - 18th November

The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, at low tide.

Estuary - visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory

Brent geese +400, Oystercatcher +100, Curlew 10, Shelduck +250, Black-headed gull 2, Redshank 20, Mute swan 1, Little egret 2.

Main lake - visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Mallard 120, Tufted duck 7, Common teal 14, Black-headed gull 1, Mute swan 1, Greylag 6.

Wadermarsh - visible from Wadermarsh lookout and Brent Hide

Mute swan 3, Coot 3.

Freshwater Lagoon - visible from Brent Hide and Crannog

Heron 1, Coot 4, Dunnock 1. Every night we enjoy a small murmuration of around 70-80 Starlings, which play in the air for a while, until they roost in a Reed patch in this lagoon.

Saline Lagoon - visible from Limekiln observatory

Little grebe 6, Black-headed gull 1. The Kingfisher was quite active this morning:
