Recent Sightings – 19th March 2018

A calmer day here at Castle Espie, after a very cold and windy St.Patrick's Day weekend! The following sightings were recorded today at low tide:

 

Estuary – visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory

Brent goose 15, Black-headed gull 16, Shelduck 22, Curlew 20, Redshank 8, Lesser black-backed gull 1

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Black-headed gull 197, Lesser black-backed gull 2, Mallard 22, Cormorant 1, Greylag 1, Tufted duck 17, Moorhen 3, Coot 2, Teal 25, Pintail 5, Shoveler 3

Wader marsh – visible from the lookout and the Brent Hide

Mute swan 2, Black-headed gull 6, Redshank 1, Shelduck 2, Moorhen 4, Teal 1, Mallard 7

Freshwater Lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannóg
