The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, near high tide.
Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard 20, Tufted duck 20, Black-headed gull 80, Pintail 1, Shelduck 3.
Wadermarsh - visible from Brent Hide
Black-headed gull 40, Gadwall 2, Shelduck 2.
Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog
Mallard 2, Tufted duck 9, Black-headed gull 200, Mute swan 4.
Saline Lagoon
Black-headed gull 45.
Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory
Light-bellied brent geese 50, Shelduck 20, Black-headed gull 20, Redshank 80, Black-tailed godwit 40 (progressively grouping before migrating), Ringed lover 1, Little egret 1.
Brickworks
Oystercatcher 5, Black-tailed godwit 7.
