Recent sightings - 23rd September
The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, near high tide.
Main lake - visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard +100, Tufted duck 5, Coot 5. A group of around 40 Common teal is being very regular at roosting in this lake at night.
Wadermarsh - visible from Wadermarsh lookout and Brent Hide
Mute swan 7.
Estuary - visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory
Brent geese +2000, with numbers clearly increasing. Black-headed gull +200, Oystercatcher 20, Curlew 50, Godwit 4.
Saline Lagoon - visible from Limekiln observatory
Mute swan 2, Little egret 1, Little grebe 4.
Limestone Lake - visible from the woodland lookout
Little grebe 1, Tufted duck 1.
