The following sightings were recorded today at high tide from the reserve at Castle Espie. A cold start to half term, hopefully will warm up as the day goes on!

Estuary – visible from the Brent Hide and the Limekiln Observatory

Wigeon 313, Teal 80, Shelduck 200, Redshank 50, Curlew 20, Little Egret 2, Mute Swan 2, Oystercatcher 300, Brent ~1090

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Greylag 4, Tufted Duck 27, Mallard 124, Black-headed Gull 12, Coot 12, Moorhen 2

Wader marsh – visible from Wader marsh lookout and Brent Hide

Greylag 22, Moorhen 6, Little Egret 2

Freshwater Lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog

Greylag 1, Mallard 88, Grey Heron 1, Moorhen 2

Saline Lagoon – visible from Lime Kiln Observatory

Little Grebe 7, Little Egret 1, Curlew 2
