Recent Sightings
Sightings from the 30th September have included:
- The Brent are starting to disperse with 23,000 on the Lough.
- Outside the Brent Hide – 22 Great Crested Grebes, 11 Eiders and Wigeon, amongst the thousands of Brent waiting to feed.
- Insects – Tortoiseshell Butterfly
- Main Lake – 66 Greylags, 44 Mallard, 34 Tufted Ducks, 5 Little Egrets, 5 Redshanks, 70 Black Headed Gulls, 2 Lesser Black Backed Gulls and 2 Pintails.
- Fresh Water Lagoon – 5 Coots, 7 Gadwalls, 1 Little Grebe and 3 Tufted Ducks.
- Peninsula Salt Marsh – 6 Oyster Catchers
- A Kingfisher has also been seen regularly at the Turtle Hide
