Sightings from the 5th January have included:
- High numbers of Shelduck and Oystercatchers on Lough, with pockets of Brent Geese (40 near the Pier).
- Peninsula Salt Marsh – 1 Little Egret, 1 Black Headed Gull and 10 Oystercatchers.
- Mammals – Grey Squirrels
- Main Lake – high numbers of Mallard (110 on 5th January), 18 Tufted Ducks, 3 Coots, 5 Gadwalls, 5 Shelducks and 1 Cormorant showing regularly
- Saline Lagoon – 1 Whooper Swan, 1 Redshank and 1 Greenshank
- Chaffinches, Goldfinches, Greenfinches, Blue, Great and Coal Tits using the feeders at the shop and restaurant
