Recent Sightings
Recent sightings from 25 May 2013 included:
- Main Lake - 28 Mallard, 16 Tufted Ducks, 14 Shelducks and 1 Little Grebe
- Wader Marsh - 2 Common Gulls amongst the Black Headed
- Sedge Warbler also on Wader Marsh
- Swallows can be seen zooming over the Fresh Water Lagoon
- Coot with 4 young also on Fresh Water Lagoon
- Orange Tip Butterfly seen in car park
- Cuckoo Flower, Marsh Marigold and Cowslip have been found on the reserve
- Peninsula Salt Marsh had 1 Oystercatcher
- Peninsula Field had 1 Curlew, 2 Whimbrels, and Ringed Plover with young
- Limestone Lake - 2 Little Grebes
- Passerines include Sedge Warbler on Peninsula Field and Wader Marsh, Linnet on Brick Works and Caffinches, Great, Coal and Blue Tits can be seen on the feeders at the Shop and Courtyard
- Several Mallard clutches of ducklings can be seen around the grounds and reserve
