Recent Sightings
Recent sightings at WWT Castle Espie (29 October - 5 November) include:
- 8 Little Egrets on Wader Marsh
- 1 Kingfisher at the Limestone Lake
- 55 whooper swans (flying overhead)
- 6 Little Egret, and 5 Shoveler in Main Lake
- 6 Greenshank, 2 Dunlin and 55 Redshank in Wader Marsh
- 100 Oystercatchers, 3 Grey plover, 5 Lapwing, 1 Curlew and Dunlin on the Peninsula Saltmarsh
Brent update: on Tuesday 5 November there were 1,500 Brent on the estuary. They are beginning to disperse and head south.
