Recent sightings - 9th September
The following sightings were recorded today by Toni Castello, warden, at low tide.
Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory
An impressive juvenile Peregrine falcon was among the Brent this morning in Strangford Lough. Peregrines use to be winter visitors in Strangford, coming from their breeding territories in the highlands.
The numbers of Brent geese continue increasing, with +900 birds counted this morning from the Brent Hide. Apart from that: +200 Oystercatchers, 20 Curlew, 2 Lesser black-backed gulls, Mute swan 1, Black-headed gull 20, Little egret 5, Grey heron 1.
