Spotted Redshank
The highlight from the last couple of days was an almost full breeding plumage Spotted Redshank found Saturday on Woodend Marsh viewable from United Utilities Hide, it was always distant and disappeared from time to time, no sign of it today.
Also on Saturday a Cuckoo was seen flying past the In Focus shop towards Harrier Hide area.
Sightings from today Sunday include 3 Mediterranean Gull from Ron Barker Hide in the morning, also 2 Barn Owls out hunting this morning from here.
Still up to 4+ Little Ringed Plover being seen on Woodend Marsh and from Ron Barker, also 1 Ringed Plover. Plenty of young Avocet on Woodend Marsh and lots of Shelduck chicks on the Mere.
Just off site Yellow Wagtail, Grey Partridge, Corn Bunting and Cuckoo along Curlew Lane on Saturday.
Plenty of Dragonflies and Damselflies to see around the reserve including Broad-bodied Chaser, Four-spotted Chaser and Banded Demoiselle.
