Tack Piece

A busier scene on the flood and fleets, certainly attracting the waders with 122 Curlew, 21 Ruff, 40 Redshank, 750 Lapwing and Golden Plover beginning to drop in by 0900. 150 Wigeon formed the main duck interest but small numbers of Teal, Pintail, Shoveler and Shelduck were also present here.

Estuary Tower

Out on the Severn as the tide ebbed was a single female Goosander and 577 Wigeon, 27 Great Black-backed Gull, 780 Lapwing, 24 Shelduck and 8 Greylag were on the Dumbles with 143 Barnacle and 41 Canada Geese on the saltmarsh.

In the hedge to the E a male Blackcap picked hawthorn berries.

Rushy Hide

20+ Bewick's Swans including new arrivals- regular visitor Maisie is here with mate Maiyfield.

South Lake

9 Snipe and 60 Greylag from Hogarth Hide

185 Shoveler, 1 Dunlin, 35 Lapwing, Crane 190 Teal, 4 Shelduck, 10 Cormorant, 70 Tufted Duck, 60 Pochard from Discovery Hide. A Chiffchaff sang outside and a Treecreeper was noted in the willows.

Zeiss Hide/Top New Piece

129 Knot, 448 Black-tailed Godwit, 25 Pintail, 132 Dunlin, 11 Snipe, Water Rail, calling Cetti's Warbler, Peregrine over the Dumbles, female Stonechat, Pochard x Ferruginous hybrid with 8 Pochard, 60 Wigeon.

Kingfisher Hide/Bottom New Piece

47 Russian and 2 Greenland White-fronted Geese, 250 Canada and 2 Greylag Geese + 51 Dunlin. The Barnacle Goose x grey goose species was also seen here with 5 Curlew and 51 Dunlin among the Lapwing.
