A low lying mist has covered Caerlaverock all day and therefore, bird sightings have been a bit thin on the ground. The reserve has been quiet for Barnalce Geese as well today, with most of the geese probably staying out on the saltmarsh instead of flying in the mist. Also the vast majority of the ponds are still covered in ice meaning birds are mainly confined to the Whooper Pond and Folly Pond.
