Vibrant, abstract artworks by Alison Ingram now on display
Vibrant, abstract paintings and limited edition prints by wildlife artist Alison Ingram are on now display in the Visitor Centre of WWT Arundel Wetland Centre until Jan 2, 2018. The exhibition opened on Oct 31, 2017 and all prints and paintings are for sale.
Alison Ingram is known for her unique interpretation of wildlife. Her abstract paintings use colour and design to unite the painting and are instantly recognisable and unforgettable.
Alison’s passion for wildlife is reflected in her work and shows her understanding of animal and bird behaviour, and their interaction with the environment. Her paintings are vibrant and lively making full use of both the positive and negative space. Colour harmonies unify the painting and create movement and style.
Originally a traditional wildlife artist, Alison had a change of direction in 1999 moving to a more experimental abstract style of working. Since then she has developed her distinctive style for which she is well known. After a popular solo exhibition in November 2012, her painting ‘Stag and Swallows’ was sold to Horsham Museum where it is now on permanent display. Some of Alison’s paintings are featured in ‘The Wildlife Artist’s Handbook’ written by Jackie Garner published in 2013. In 2014 Alison was unanimously voted in as a signature member of the Society of Animal Artists.
Alison continues to develop her style, mainly concentrating on painting British birds which she enjoys watching. She exhibits regularly at Birdfair, The British Birdwatching Fair at Rutland Water where her work is very well received and where a lot of her commissioned work is gained. Alison is a regular exhibitor at Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and she is also a regular and very popular Artist in Residence at Nature in Art, Gloucester.
